Slowly turning my Ubuntu server into a proper homelab. Plex, qBittorrent, Netdata, Portainer, Homarr — all running behind a Cloudflare Tunnel on my own domain. The goal is to own my infrastructure rather than rent it from someone else.

Also building this website — which is itself part of the project.

Currently working through The Muqaddimah by Ibn Khaldun. A 14th century introduction to his universal history that reads more like a theory of civilisation. He writes about group solidarity, the rise and fall of dynasties, and why cities make people soft. It is one of those books that makes you feel like the author understood something fundamental that most modern thinkers are still catching up with.

Before that: Dune by Frank Herbert. The politics of resource scarcity dressed up as science fiction. Worth reading slowly.
